My Story
Creativity
has always been at the core of my being. Over the years my employment
experiences have offered no source of creative expression, lacking
personal fulfillment. Expressing my creativity as a hobby was never
enough.
Consequently, I asked myself how could I combine gainful
employment while doing what I love. Upon analyzing the two, I realized
my love for computers allowed diverse opportunities for creative
expression.
However, finding my niche in this industry was a
process. First, I pursued an Associates Degree in Computer Drafting
Technology/Auto cad at ITT Technical Institute, where I graduated with
honors, in five disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, Structural Steel,
Civil Engineering, and Architectural.
At that time, I also
became a member of the National Honor Society. Of all these
disciplines, architecture brought much-desired fulfillment since it
incorporated the computer.
For a while I utilized my degree in
the field of architecture. Over time, I realized even that was not
enough for me. I needed to move on, and continue the pursuit of my
ultimate dream.
Overcoming numerous challenging obstacles, I
enrolled with American Intercontinental University (AIU) where I am
now completing my last two quarters towards achieving my BFA in Visual
Communication - Digital Design. I have been able to maintain my
straight "A" average and remain on the Dean's List.
Finally, I
have found my joy. I love both Graphic and Web Design. The
opportunities for creative expression are unlimited. For the past year
I supported myself while completing my degree by freelancing as a
graphic/web designer using graphic software and HTML.
